Singer and lyricist, Denise took her first steps in music through the female hip hop group Anastácias, which in 2003 won the Hutuz award in the Female Demo category, with the song “Mulheres Heroínas”, which reports the struggle of black women in Brazilian society.

In 2004, the group moved from Porto Alegre to Rio de Janeiro, where Denise then had the opportunity to broaden her musical palette by singing in bands ranging from traditional to modern genres - from Latin music with SongoroCosongo to trip-hop with Zerodois. . She did backing vocals for samba-soul band Supergroove and was also a member of the project and show Geração Hip Hop, by SESC Tijuca.

In the summer of 2008, Denise traveled to Eastern Europe to sing, invited by guitarist and musical partner Jei Virunurm.

For 5 consecutive years, Denise was the voice of the Brazilian Nights. A weekly show at the legendary jazz club Clazz, which turned out to be one of the hottest nights in town. Joining a mix of international musicians and bringing a genuinely Brazilian flavor to the local music scene.

In 8 years Denise Fontoura participated in several festivals, sang the Brazilian anthem in the friendly soccer match between Estonia and Brazil (2009), sang at the first Brazilian Day held in Estonia, participated in the Afro Tallinn Beat Orchestra and performed in several countries such as Latvia, Lithuania , Finland, Sweden, Germany, Poland, Azerbaijan, Montenegro and Italy.
