Diana Hajiyeva has been a name to watch since childhood. Launching her music career at BaryBakh, Azerbaijani jazz folk band, she then continued her education at Baku Music Academy and Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. Her deep knowledge of classical music traditions has allowed her to become a successful jazz performer and launch her dream-pop project Dihaj in 2014. Diana’s music adventure is not confined to any limits. ‘I am a jazz performer, who writes electronic music and deeply respects Scandinavian Black metal’, she describes herself. Among many projects and collaborations she has had, her ‘musical friendship’ with Elchin Shirinov (Avishay Cohen) and Isfar Sarabsky (Montreux, Dhafer Youssef) stand out. Dihaj has shared the stage with well known names, such as Morcheeba, Air and Tricky. She has received the Phoenix Caucasian Music Award and represented Azerbaijan and Eurovision 2017.
