Antonio Lizana (Sax, singer and composer)
He began to study saxophone at age 10 in the Conservatory of Music in San Fernando, Cadiz, and has his first contact with jazz when he attended various jazz seminars given by Jerry Bergonzi, Dick Oatts, Jim Snidero and Perico Sambeat.
In 2011 he finished his higher education jazz studies at Musikene, the Advanced Music School in the Basque Country. He had teachers such as Mikel Andueza, Guillermo Klein, Jordi Rossi, Bob Sands, Miguel Blanco, Perico Sambeat, Andrej Olejnizak and Guillermo McGuill amongst others.
It is during his stay in the Basque Country where his own Project, Antonio Lizana Group was born.
He was part of the Afrodisian orchestra, conducted by Miguel Blanco. Antonio collaborated as a saxophonist, arranger and singer on Miguel Blanco’s latest album (Satierismos 2011). Antonio also collaborates with the afro-latin-jazz orchestra of Arturo O’farril, based in New York, as a singer an
saxophonist. He collaborated on his latest album, participating in various concerts with this big band, where he shared the stage with brothers Andy and Jerry Gonzalez, Dave Valentin, Papo Vazquez, Pablo Mayor, Cristina Pato, Ximo Tevar, Gregg Agust, amongst others...
He has worked with artists such as Guillermo McGuill, Samuel Torres, Ana Salazar, Patáx, Ariadna Castellanos, Big band de Andalucia (conducted by Zé Eduardo), Big Band de Las Palmas (conducted by Francisco Blanco “Latino”), Los Atlánticos, Ea!, Maíta vende Cá and Mario Díaz, and has collaborated with Miguel Ríos, Chambao, Raimundo Amador, David de María, José Mercé, Juan Parrilla, India Martínez, Tucara and Rancapino.
Marcos Salcines (Piano)
He began his studies, which lasted for 8 years, in the creative school in Madrid. He later studied with the pianist Germán Kucich. He is currently a graduate from Musikene, where he studied with pianist Iñaki Salvador and Roger Más. He has attended several jazz seminars by Barry Harris, Michael Kanan, Jordi Rossy, Peter Berstein, Branford Marsalis, etc. He is part of the bands Antonio Lizana, KB Connection, Lakunza Brother. He has collaborated with artists such as La mala Rodriguez, Angela Cruces, Javier Maroto, David Palomar.
Epi Pacheco (Percussion)
Born in San Fernando, Cadiz, he became interested in music from a young age. He works with various bands as a drummer and percussionist. He has worked as a percussionist with many groups such as Verea Cañí,Las Mónicas, EA!, Antonio Alemania, Juan José Alba, Joaquin de Sola, Maita vende Cá, Duendeando, Sunset Quartet, Proyecto Clarise, Miguel Sáez, Saurom landers.
Tana Santana (Bass)
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, he is currently finishing his double bass studies at Musikene, the Advanced Music School . His teachers have included Victor Merlo, Jordi Rossi, Guillermo Klein, Miguel Blanco, Perico Sambeat, Bob Sands, etc. He has also studied with Gary Willis and attended lectures from Dave Santoro, Dave Weckl, Victor Bailey, etc.
